Thankful For… John 1:43-51
By: (All)
Series: (All)
It seems like we become numb to our blessings as we stare at these things everyday.
We can make the most sensitive and intimate time with God though prayer repetitive as well.
But how do we make it authentic?
We see blessings for what they are.  We see ourselves not as who we are, but as what God
sees us as who we can become.  We see us as conduits of blessings, as a carrier or peace,
as an ambassador of Christ.

Pastor Dwayne challenges us to see everything as if it were the 1st time
and realize what blessings we have staring us right in the face.

    The Lord’s Supper 1 Corinthians 11:17-34
If we take what was done on the cross, then we are becoming one with Christ.
If we become one with Christ, then we become one with the body.
If we are to be one body, we must have unity.

Unity with God comes only with confession and repentance.
Unity with believers comes only with forgiveness.
And peace within self only comes when you forgive yourself.

In this message, Pastor Dwayne takes the mirror and flips it on ourselves.
By being honest with ourselves and really examining who we are and our sinful selves,
are we then only able to be worthy of receiving the body and blood of Christ.

    Family Matters 1 Corinthians 10:1-13
Even though the family was originally ordained by God, what we’ve done with it has been as far from perfect as could possibly be.  Satan, in his never ending persistence, is attacking the very heart of the family even when we are exhausted.  But Paul encourages us by addressing the weakest points of the family.  Pastor Dwayne Dasher takes this and makes it personal to all of us no matter what life stage we are in.

    Through The Bible 2 Kings 6:24 – 7:20
How do you respond to bad situations?
Do you play the blame game and blame someone else?
Do you act in total disbelief and doubt what is really going on?
Do you use reasoning and try to make sense out of what’s going on?
Or do you disregard self and give what you have in order to bring hope to those buried in fear?
God’s plan is always bigger than our vision. We may see the problem staring us in the face, but we have to stretch beyond our own vision to see the bigger picture:  God’s will coming to fruition.

"Let me ask this question to you today: ARE PEOPLE'S LIVES CHANGING BECAUSE OF THE WAY YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE?  On an everyday basis, do people see you and say, "Wow!  You know, there's something different about that person.  I'd like to become like that!   If not, we need to reevaluate the way that we're living and say, "Hey, you know what?  The way that I'm living is not changing lives."

Freedom in Christ 1 Corinthians 8

The new church in Corinth had some questions for Paul, and ones worth addressing today.

When someone does something, though socially acceptable, that may offend a new believer or deter a potential believer, what should you do?  Act as if everything is just fine or should I sacrifice something as to not derail what they perceive as wrong, even though it's not technically wrong to me?

The list for what could be perceived as being morally wrong is too long to put in a post.  We may think it's ok, but it's not to someone else.

In this message, Pastor Dwayne Dasher digs into the heart of the matter:  what WE should do when it may be a stumbling block to someone else.

    Through the Bible: 2 Kings 4 & 5
    By: (All)
In 2 Kings 4 & 5, Pastor Dwayne Dasher contrasts the false god, Baal, with the true God, Yahweh, throughout the the miracles performed by Elijah and Elisha.  Baal was the god of water, fire, the harvest and life.   Too many times the misled  Israelites worshiped this false god praying for things that just wouldn't come.  But God through the two prophets in many situations took a direct stab at this false god proving time and time again who is the real God.
